Here are my answers
I broke both of my ligaments when I was 19, and the operation for those torn ligaments has been postponed till now. Since then, my outdoor activities has been limited so I started doing something lighter like swimming, bowling and volleyball. But my movements were limited as i cant have sudden movement to my knees, or i might be bed-ridden for days. Much to my surprise, I started playing Paintball last year with my colleagues for an internal tournament which our team won. I know paintball is an extreme sports and require more movements, but the thrill and the adrenaline rush i got from playing superceded my worries and phobic of falling to the ground with a dislocated knee. When I started playing, there wasnt any good all women team around so I played with ARMADA till one day a friend suggested me to try out for a new all ladies team which was just newly formed. That was Ballbuster! So I went, and still playing religiously and faithfully with them. I do play for Armada sometimes, when ballbuster is not playing in the same tourney.
Paintball is a great stress buster I must say. Sometimes I accumulate all my anger and let it all out during the games. Isn't it better than releasing your anger at your innocent loved one and friends, or doing anything destructive for that matter.
There are some people who find themselves unable to "jive" with the paintballers crowd. Well, all I can say is maybe they need to get to know these people a bit more, because despite their fierce and sometimes snobbish looking face, they are actually very friendly and helpful. You just need to adapt and blend well. Dont expect everyone to follow your flow, aight!!??
Paintball has given me a lot of other opportunities, new profound joy, and more and more new friends. The friendship and sisterhood I got is priceless. If only everybody would just stop being superficial, judgemental and critical, and start accepting paintball as a good sports.
And yes, a good sports to shoot pictures too, I must say!
So what are you waiting for, go try paintball! I am sure you will like it!
Paintball suck the life out of me..and im loving it!!!

Superstar
I'd be lying if I say I wasn't at all surprised.
Truth is, I've never felt this big before.
Maybe when I was a lot younger and slimmer, I did get those kind of appreciation and recognition.
Last nite, I was at Benum Hill Eco Resort, where I was a guest speaker for the Selangor Youth Outbound Camp. I was accompanied by two dear friends, who were also paintballers. Our arrival was greeted by Salihah and we were then brought to our chalet and later to dinner. Half an hour later, she said it was time for the "talk". Upon our arrival to the hall, all eyes were on us. We were completely clad with our gears and jerseys, even with face mask. When I was invited and introduced to the crowd, the participants and the instrustors cheered and gave us a BIG clap. We were shocked to see the responds. When I started my speech, the participants showed so much of interest and listened to all my "crap" in awe. I didnt actually prepare anything and was talking straight from my tired and worn out brain. But amazingly, the crowd was giving so much of interest and they didnt even wait a second to ask me a lot of questions. Fortunately, iImanaged to answer all the questions.
I must say iIwas like one kindergarten teacher, eventhough there were kids aged 15 to 18 too. They kept asking how to play the game so I asked Eddy to do a demo. We brought our markers and tried to do some shootings to the wall where papers and a bin were pasted. Eddy shoot and shoot till the bin actually smashed and that left the audiences astonished. I was so glad everyhting went well and the audiences like our demo and talk. After that we stayed for their "Talentime" which was hillariously funny and creative. The most funny performance was probably when one of the instructors performed Hindustani dance moves. That really made me laughed my head off!
After the talentime, the kids came to us for autograph and some more questions. I seriously felt like a real Paintball STar..hahaha...We were even treated like a VIP by the instructor, which really touched me. We had a very long chat with mose of the instructors who were very friendly and funny. We stayed over for the nite in one of teh chalet. All of them were staying in dorms but they gave us a lovely chalet. Such a great hospitality. I slept like a baby all through the nite!
The next morning, we wake up early to join them for breakfast, and when we said goodbye, everybody was really thanking us and the kids cheered for us again...isnt that lovely. I LOVE KIDS...and teens too.
We continued our plan for the day. We went to Lata Jarum to enjoy the beautiful waterfall and to Eddy's farm. We stopped over by the road on our way back to eat durians and rambutans. Had lunch in pekan Bentong , managed to get our hands on "gulai ikan patin". It was a perfect outing altogether.
I guess you don't really have to travel overseas to unwind, cuti-cuti Malaysia will do.
Pictures here...
Note to self: Never to watch SUpernatural alone again...Bloody MAry...Bloody scary!

Public relations
Im off to Raub, Pahang tomorrow. I have to be a guest speaker for an Outbound camp for teens/kids. I'm not really fond of public speaking but, its for my team benefit and for the love of the game, tomorrow im gonna face one of my fears.."Public Speaking". Well, they dont call me PR manager for the team for nothing, aight?
Please kids, dont ask me questions to which I dont have the answers..
On the other side of my life, I received two christmas gifts today...Sweet!!!
I cant wait for Christmas, 3 days of holiday.I need it badly. My body and brain is "overused". Need some rest...But next week we will have training as usual...Thats awesome! A week without playing paintball is like a day without bath! haha!

Its all about teamwork mates!
Teamwork is the foundation of success in paintball. Playing by the seat of your pants is fun and exciting, but it wont win you games as consistently as knowing how to play like a real team.
In paintball, winning teamwork depends on three major ingredients:
attitude
skill
and strategy
Let's start with attitude, since it's often what makes or breaks a paintball team. A team of expert strategists with tournament-level skills, but without a similar attitude, will still lose games. (it doesnt help if you have good players but with poor leadership, this will eventually break the team. A waste if they have promising future in paintball)
Great teamwork -- the kind that wins -- requires teammates to share certain characteristics.
First, commitment: Do you play occasional pick-up games? Do you play weekly?
Or do you practice constantly and play at every available opportunity? And how seriously do you take the game? (we gotta admit, due to some limitations on finance and since paintball is still quite pricey here in Malaysia, not many of us do play every week. Majority of us train when the tournament is around the corner, therefore teams which getting full sponsorship to train and play, should take this opportunity to train religiously!)
Do you futz around, splattering each other with paint? Or is each game an all-out death match? Teammates who are prepared to devote similar amounts of time to similar goals will likely work together best.
(Very likely, many of us play for fun, which is good. But when it comes to tournament, the fun have to be in put in a serious attitude. They say, work hard play hard. I'd say, lets play some serious fun game!)
Second, how does each of you handle conflict and criticism? Teammates will screw up occasionally. When someone makes an error...
Do you fly off the handle? Joke about it?
Ignore it?
How about receiving criticism -- do you get defensive?
(Can't deny that too, not many of us can take criticism on how we have played, especially when the comments come from a player we dont look highly upon. Not a really good attitude there!)
Insist it wasn't your fault?
Take responsibility?
Teammates don't need to react identically, but they do need to be able to work with each other's approaches.
(The best way is always to act nonchalant and accept all the tips and advice you can get from all the PRO players, we aint got nothing to lose anyway. But if it comes from a "poyo" player who thinks he is so good when he is actually crap at it, just swallow your pride for a while and let him boast for a while, but you not obliged to do as he tell..hehehe! This happens all the time man.. Especially when an all ladies team are training, there will be lotsa paintball dudes trying to be our coaches ( we've already have one, and that will be enough), correcting every single "mistakes" we did.. It can be irritating sometimes, coz most of them dont know a shit what they are talking about!)
Third, you need mutual trust and respect. Without them, you'll second-guess each other's decisions and actions, and your strategy will break down. Each player needs confidence that everyone else knows his role and can perform, even if all hell breaks loose.
Taken mostly from, Paintball trips and tricks, with some notes added by yours truly...
Till the next tournament...Lets do some paint guys!

History was made!
In two months, 3 tournaments were held and we only participated in two of them. Did not get to the finals for the ASIA Cup although we perfomed quite good during qualifying and semis(at least i think we were), beating almost all teams and not excluding the guy's team as well.
On the 29th and 30th July, MPOC, Malaysian Paintball Operator Championship 4th leg was held. My team participated and we made a history by being the first Malaysian all Ladies team to ever enter the final and we even got the 2nd place. During the final game, 3 of 5 markers on our team were down, kaput!!! The opponents were left with 2 players while there were 4 of us...but only 1 player from our team was able to shoot since the other 3 of us cant even pull the trigger...damn those house markers.! And the rest, as u know it..is history...We lost in the final but had it not been the faulty markers, we could have win the game. Nevertheless, luck wasnt on our side that day and we settled for 1st runner up. Better luck next time BallBusters!
Oh yeah...it was my birthday too on the 29th July, and it was indeed the sweetest gift ever, beating all the guys and getting 1st runner up in MPOC.
On another note...Ballbusters are training hard for the upcoming tournament!
See you paintballers there!!!

Our team is indeed participating. News out, that there will be two categories for NOVICE division, E and M. E for team using Electronic-markers, while M for teams using mechanical markers. Sogo BAllbusters players have a set of E, and we have yet to decide which category we will be registering for. Well, im guessing we will be keeping it as a surprise then. See you all this Saturday in Action Paintball, Bukit JAlil!

This is us..the "SOGO" Ballbusters
This was taken during MPOC some time ago, early MAY 2006. It was our first tournament together as a TEAM. YES, we are still new...as a team.
Far from left is Mas, Jackie, Christ, Carol, Arieca, Rina and NAdia.
We have a few more players but these were the 7 that played during MPOC May 2006. We clinched 6th place.
